Privacy Policy
We collect as little information as possible. Here is exactly what that means for the PlusMerge app and this website.
Last updated October 11, 2026
Who we are
This website, plusmerge.com, and the PlusMerge software are operated by 7175001 Canada Inc. (“we”, “us”), a company based in Canada. If you have any question about this policy or your information, email us at support@plusmerge.com.
The PlusMerge app
PlusMerge runs entirely on your computer. It never sends your files, their contents, or information about how you use the app to us or anyone else. There is no telemetry and no analytics in the app.
Your settings and the list of recently compared files and folders are stored locally on your computer, so that you can reopen them. You can clear the recent lists at any time from within the app.
This website
We don’t set cookies on this website or run analytics or advertising trackers. Apart from Cloudflare Turnstile on the contact form, described below, we don’t load fonts or scripts from third parties. If you choose a colour theme or a platform for the screenshots, that preference is saved in your own browser and never sent to us.
Like any website, ours relies on a host: Cloudflare delivers the site and protects it from abuse. To do that, it processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, and it may set a strictly necessary security cookie when it needs to check that a visitor isn’t a bot. This information is handled under Cloudflare’s own privacy commitments and is not used by us to identify you.
When you contact us
If you email us or use the contact form, we receive your email address, your name, and whatever you choose to write. We use this only to reply to you and to help with your request. We keep it only as long as we need it for that purpose, or as required by law. We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not add you to a mailing list unless you ask us to.
Messages sent through the contact form, including the topic you choose, are stored in a database hosted by Cloudflare so that we can read and answer them. With each message we also record the country it was sent from, your browser type, and a one-way scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address, which we use only to limit how many messages can be sent in an hour. We never store your IP address itself.
The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a message comes from a person rather than a bot. Turnstile runs only on the Contact page and looks at technical signals from your browser, not at what you write.
If you ask us to let you know when PlusMerge launches, we’ll use your email address to send you that news. We won’t send you anything else unless you ask, and every message will include a way to unsubscribe.
Where your information is stored
Our email is hosted by Zoho in its Canadian data centres. Cloudflare is based in the United States and runs servers around the world, so messages sent through the contact form, and the technical information Cloudflare processes when you visit this website, may be stored or handled outside Canada. Information held in another country is subject to that country’s laws and may be accessible to its courts, law enforcement and national security authorities.
Purchases
PlusMerge is not yet on sale. When sales open, payments will be processed by a third-party payment provider, and we will update this policy to explain what information is shared for a purchase before you can buy.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law, you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to our using it. To make a request, email support@plusmerge.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Our Privacy Officer is responsible for how we handle personal information and can be reached at the same address. If you aren’t satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top.
